  • Friday, February 28, 2020

A Cleveland, Tn., couple has sued a Chattanooga Police officer, saying that Mark Pollard rear-ended them on Shallowford Road on April 27, 2019.

Jeffrey and Rachel Lovingood are also suing the city of Chattanooga in the complaint that asks $300,000 in compensatory damages.

The Hamilton County Circuit Court suit says the couple was stopped for traffic in their 2017 Toyota Highlander when Officer Pollard struck them forcefully in a city-owned vehicle.

The suit, filed by attorney Michael Jenne of Cleveland, says Ms. Lovingood suffered permanent, disabling injuries and has had to undergo two painful surgeries.
