A 29-year-old Soddy Daisy man is charged in a case in which another man was tied up and placed in the trunk of a car.

Dewayne Legerald Enlow, of 9540 Smith Morgan Road, was indicted by the Hamilton County Grand Jury for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

On Jan. 24, 2019, at 9:15 a.m., witnesses at the Roadway Inn on Shallowford Road saw the victim climb out of the trunk of a Nissan Sentra. He had been tied up with duct tape and zip ties.

The victim said he had been assaulted and pistol-whipped by two men at a home on Reese Street. He said the pair took $25 cash and his cell phone from him at gunpoint.

He was then pushed into the trunk of the car.

The owner of the vehicle said she had been told to report the vehicle as stolen. She acknowledged that someone had been tied up in the trunk. An empty bag of zip ties was found in her vehicle.

Police received a tip that Enlow was involved, and the victim picked him out of a lineup.

Enlow acknowledged being in the vehicle and punching the victim. He said at the time he was questioning him "about an alleged unwanted sexual encounter" with a woman.
