Associated General Contractors of East Tennessee and businesses within the Chattanooga construction community are joining forces to properly allocate PPE equitably to the various hospitals in treating COVID-19.
Officials said, "The divide between supply and demand for PPE continues to grow for healthcare workers. AGC, along with the construction community, will be collecting the following materials to help medical staff: face masks, latex gloves and disposable clothing (painters gowns, etc.).
"In the event any of the PPE donated does meet the standards in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, it will be used in treating other patients so that the appropriate PPE can be reserved for COVID treatment. All items donated will go to good use.
"Drop off will be open in the AGC Office, 101 W 21st St.
in Chattanooga, between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday starting today. We will deliver all the collected materials each Friday, at noon, for the foreseeable future."
