Apartment Complex Planned On 5.6 Acres At 6402 Shallowford Road

  • Thursday, May 7, 2020

An apartment complex is planned on 5.6 wooded acres at 6402 Shallowford Road.

The location is near the Courts of Waterford and a Dollar General.

The rezoning case on the plan by David Gardner goes before the Planning Commission on Monday.

The staff of the Regional Planning Agency is recommending denial.

The report says: The 2004 Shallowford Road-Lee Highway Area Plan recommends Low-Density
Residential uses for this site, which is described as single-unit dwellings being dominant, with some exceptions made for townhouses, patio homes, and two-unit dwellings if density is compatible.

The proposed multi-family use and density of 17.1 dwelling units per acre are not compatible with the adopted land use plan."
