Mike Pelfrey
Joseph Michael “Mike” Pelfrey, 67, of East Ridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 29, 1953 in Sumter, South Carolina.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and had been a custodian for East Ridge High School for many years.
He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Joe and Doris Pelfrey of East Ridge; brother, Rick (Lisa) Pelfrey of Aiken, SC; sister, Rhadonna (Gary) Kerr of Ringgold, longtime brother-in-law, Ronnie Rich of Chattanooga; four nephews, Adam (Krista) Rich, Zachary (Heather) Rich, Neil Pelfrey, and Mark Pelfrey; two nieces, Jamie (Todd) Burnett and Terah (Joshua) Sceviour; his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Kylie Dover, Kinley Dover, Logan Rich, Ellison Rich, Onyxia Rich, and Benjamin Sceviour.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Robert K. Schrader officiating. The service will be available on our Facebook page, Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family is requesting that you adhere to the CDC regulations of social distancing when attending the graveside service. Chattanooga National Cemetery requires a mask to be worn for all in attendance.
