Darrell Dajaun Dallas
Darrell Dajaun Dallas aka “Triple D” was born on January 25, 1960, to the late Smith “Bubba” Dallas, Jr. and the late Carolyn Davis Williams of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Although his life was taken unexpectedly, God called him home on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Parkridge Medical Center in the loving arms of his devoted wife, Connie Dallas.
Darrell is a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tn. with a bachelor of science degree in Health and Physical Education in 1981. In his four years at Tennessee Wesleyan, he was a starting point guard known for his entertaining and exhibition style of play, His athleticism, humor, and theatrical (razzle and dazzle) elements kept the crowds standing on their feet. In 1977, Darrel graduated from Brainerd High School and he utilized his basketball techniques as a point guard.
With his skillful and strategic mindset, he was hired as the assistant girls’ basketball coach of his alma mater, Brainerd High School. He furthered his career as the leading coach for the girls’ softball and volleyball team as well as the Junior Varsity Boys and Freshman (9th) grade team. His leadership on and off the basketball court is a testament to his capacity and will to rally boys and girls to a common purpose and the character which inspired confidence.
As a dedicated community leader, he worked for the City of Chattanooga as a sports official and trainer in various sports. He organized the Summer Food Program and Summit Softball League. Darrell was the recipient of the “Best Dressed Official” playing hard but looking good at his craft. His leadership style can be defined as a process for influencing people to accomplish the mission, inspiring their commitment to the community, and improving the organization through guidance, governance, and loyalty.
Darrell was predeceased in death by his beloved mother Carolyn D. Williams, his father Smith Dallas, Jr., his loving grandmother Mary Davis, grandfather Chester Davis, Sr., and his younger brother Eric Dallas.
He leaves to cherish is memories his devoted and lifetime wife Connie Dallas, His brother Vincent Dallas of Birmingham, Alabama and his sister Collette (Henry) McCleary, his dedicated daughters, Kelly Atkins and Aisha (Terrance) Higgins of Chattanooga, his two sons, Brandon Dallas and Darrel (Megan) Dallas, Jr. of Clarksville, TN., his eight grandchildren, Kyley Sykes, Cameron Dallas, Darrell Dallas III, Ashton Dallas, Kori Atkins, Spencer Higgins, Braydan Dallas, and Alexis Dallas.
Darrell is released into the hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His soul is anchored and his love for God Almighty has carried him through. He lived his life dedicated to his community and family; however, he recognized God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit which ordered his steps in life.
Public viewing will be from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the funeral home.
A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 30, at St. Paul AME Church, located at 2514 Williams Street.
Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
