Wythe, VA (7/11/20) --- "Big Sexy" Brandon Overton (# 76) of Evans, Ga., raced past early leader and Friday night's winner Chris Madden on a lap 20 restart to go on and win night #2 of the 10 race Southern Nationals mini-series Saturday at Wythe (VA) Raceway.

Rolling along the outside the Wells Motorsports "AllStar Concrete, Overton Crossfit" sponsored team passed Ross Bailes, Dale McDowell and Madden for the $10,053 victory.

Madden leads the points heading into Bulls Gap, Tn. north of Knoxville Monday before Tuesday night's special in Sweetwater just north of Cleveland at I-75 Raceway, with McDowell second in points and Overton third. In Wisconsin the other Brandon "B-Shep" Brandon Sheppard of Illinois backed up his Friday night $10,000 World of Outlaws Late Model series victory with yet another at the Plymouth Dirt Track. Tennessean Scott Bloomquist was 6th overall.

McMinnville's William Blankenship (# 32) won the 604 Late Model feature Saturday night at the Mountain View Raceway in Dayton/Spring City in front of a standing room only sized crowd. Cleveland racer Hayden Ownbey (# H0) won the first Sportsman feature at MVR. Wartburg Speedway raced Late Models, getting ready for next Saturday's (7/18) UCRA 604/Crate Championship event. Many UCRA tour regulars attended as to gain valuable seat-time for next weekend $10,000 Round #5 event, that pays $2,500 to-Win. Local racer Eddie King Jr beat inaugural UCRA Champion Jake Teague and current UCRA leading Rookie of the Year contender Jason Cardwell.

Josh Harris (# 22) of Owenboro, Ky. led the way for the $5,100 "Area 51" Open Wheel Modified victory Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway near Gatlinburg. The division, usually a mid-card show around Tennessee,  topped the event with 51 entrants for the 51 lap feature. A huge crash took out a lot of top competitors on lap two on the front stretch. Luckily nobody was injured. Ringgold racer Lee Gray (# 11) won the night's 602/Sportsman feature with his North Georgia Motorsports / Whitmire Construction race car.

The Lucas Oil race in Kentucky was rained out Saturday night.
