School Board Member Joe Wingate Thanks Voters Of District 7

Monday, August 10, 2020

When I began my time on the Hamilton County School Board four years ago, I emphasized many times that I got involved because I was proud of my hometown and community. I believed that we could do much better.

In the last three years, we have not only done better, but have made historical academic improvements.  Make no mistake, there is still much work to be done as we strive to make Hamilton County Schools the best school district in Tennessee.

It is an honor to continue to represent District 7 on the Hamilton County School Board.  I’m grateful to all of you who believe in and recognize the work that has taken place and I look forward to what is to come.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this campaign and all of those who worked so hard at the polls on Election Day.  Let’s keep in winning in District 7 and all across Hamilton County.

Joe Wingate

Unnecessary I-75 Interchange Bottleneck

I think the work being done on the 75/24 interchange is nothing short of amazing. The crews have done an incredible job thus far. The planned changes on paper look like they should work. However, as someone who uses the interchange every morning I can already see that the result may only move the traffic jam a half mile or so south. Anyone using the interchange can clearly see ... Veteran Leadership - Zeca and Hernandez Propel CFC to Conference Title

The second goal in CFC’s 3-0 win over New Amsterdam was truly vintage for the best team in NISA’s Eastern Conference. After the New York team used an overhead kick to clear the ball, CFC’s Juan Hernandez positioned himself underneath it around midfield and then corralled it with a running start. Beside him was Zeca, who readied himself for one of his trademark runs down the ... (click for more)

Red Wolves Win Over Omaha 2-0

The Chattanooga Red Wolves 2-0 victory over Union Omaha felt both closer and more distant than the score indicated. While coach Obleda’s team in red did not dominate in terms of shots or possession, they never seemed to be in danger of losing the lead. That margin began to take form in the 18th minute, when Ricardo Zacarias made a fantastic run in the 18th minute. “I started ... (click for more)
