Shaji Varghese, 55, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2020.

 

Born in Kerala, India, Mr. Varghese has lived in Chattanooga for the past 20 years.

 

He was employed with Erlanger Medical Center with 20 years of service and was a member of New Testament Church in Chattanooga.

 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Alexander M. Chacko (Lisi Alexander).

 

He is survived by his wife, Gracy Varghese; daughter, Diana Varghese (fiancé, Tom Mammen); and son, Dennis Varghese; currently residing in Chattanooga. 

 

He is also survived by his sisters, Mariyamma John (late, Daniel John), Texas; Mother Ponnamma M.G., India; Sosamma George (Suresh George), New York; Santhamma Abraham (Abraham Varghese), Chattanooga; Daisy Varghese (Raju Varughese), New York; and Leelamma Alexander (Alexander Chacko), Chattanooga; many nieces and nephews.

 

There will be a visitation hour for family on Friday, Aug. 14, from 5-6 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.

 

There will also be a visitation hour for family and friends on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9-10 a.m. 

 

A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. in the Heritage funeral home chapel. Thereafter, the Burial Ceremony will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1 Mount Olivet Drive.
