The Covenant golf team concluded its fall schedule and placed 12th overall at the Chick-fil-A Invitational at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome.
Covenant posted a season-best round of 300 in the first round on Monday before carding a 327 in the final round on Tuesday. The Scots finished in a tie for 12th with Shorter.
Will DeMersseman led the way for Covenant with his 36th-place finish after a 36-hole score of 153 (73-80). The senior had a strong opening round as he shot a season-best 73 that had him in the top-20 on the leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round.
The entire 19-team and 97-player field struggled with course conditions on Tuesday as temperatures dropped compared to Monday's round.
Titus Cooke, making his collegiate debut, fired a 75 in the opening round and carded two birdies.
Cooke wrapped up play with a two-day score of 158 (75-83) to place 56th overall. Kenny Duffin shot a 76 on Monday before finishing with an 81 on Tuesday for a 157 and a 49th-place finish. Crawford Collett also posted a 76 on Monday and finished with a 159 (76-83), while John Livingston had a 172 (88-84).
The Emory B team took the team title with a 571 (277-294), while No. 2-ranked Babson was second at 580 (285-295). Emory's Jackson Klutznick was the medalist at 9-under par, 135 (65-70).
Covenant will be back in action in the spring. The complete spring schedule will be announced at a later time.
