Freida Goins
Freida Faye Goins, 58, of Fort Oglethorpe passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021.
Freida was a lifelong resident of the Fort Oglethorpe area and a 1981 graduate of LFO High School. Freida received an associate’s degree from Chattanooga State in 1985 in Accountancy and she studied Banking and Financial Management at American Institute of Banking in 1996. She worked for over 20 years in banking at Pioneer/FSG Bank. Freida enjoyed playing softball at Warner Park throughout the years where she was a short stop. Freida loved being a mom and Ashley was her world. She was the life of the party, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and she enjoyed spending time at the pool sipping on her sweet tea. Freida was known for taking pictures, decorating her house, and working in her yard. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Goins; sister, Stacy Goins; brother, Kenneth Goins; grandmother, Frances Baker; grandparents, David and Faye Stephens; and uncle, Frank Stephens.
Survivors include her daughter, Ashley Helton; mother, Delores Stephens; siblings, Joyce Park, Faith Valdes, Donna VanRosenberg, Troy Goins, and Sonny Goins; her caregiver and friend, Stella Rozzell; and several nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Mark Garrett officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
