Healthcare Executive Jarrett Millsaps Joins Solas BioVentures

  • Tuesday, November 2, 2021
Solas BioVentures announces the addition of Jarrett Millsaps as a managing director in Chattanooga.  Mr. Millsaps brings his 20+ years of executive experience in healthcare administration to Solas, where he will also assume the role of chief financial officer.

Mr. Millsaps returns to Chattanooga from Lexington, Ky., where he served as CEO for one of the largest rehabilitation hospitals in the country.  Prior to that, he was the CEO of Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga and spent 18 years in a variety of advancing roles with HCA Healthcare, including controller, COO, and CEO of multiple facilities.

He began his career in the United States Navy, where he served in multiple deployments and rose to the rank of detachment commander of a Naval Special Warfare Combatant Craft Task Unit.
He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he received his MBA degree in finance.

“My family and I could not be more excited to be returning to Chattanooga,” said Mr. Millsaps. “I was born here and have called this city home for many years - the opportunity to return and join the Solas team just added to the appeal.  If anything, the last two years have proven that compelling science -- built around proactive, and clinically sound, technology -- only serves to improve humankind at scale.  This is the work of Solas, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

“I am honored to have a distinguished veteran of two great institutions, The United States Navy and Tennessee’s own HCA Healthcare, as well as just an incredible human being of the highest integrity, join our team,” said Dr. David Adair, co-founder and managing general partner of Solas BioVentures.  “It validates the model we are building and solidifies our positioning for our current fund, as well as our already planned Fund 3. I cannot think of a better person to serve as our CFO and teammate.”
