U.S. Navy Veteran And Member Of Masonic Lodge And Alhambra Shrine

Jimmie Darrell Whitaker, 80, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his home.

 

He attended New Life Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy retiree and a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Alhambra Shrine.

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Darrell Whitaker, Jr., step-son, William Allen Murr and his parents, Elmer Roger and Bernice Toler Whitaker.

 

Survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Ruth Eugenia Whitaker, daughters, Debbie (Jimmy) Wick and Vickie Whitaker, stepson, Ricky Murr, step-daughters, Teressa (Darrell) Crowe and Lucretia Murr, brother, Bobby Whitaker, sister, Louise Self, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating.  Masonic Services will also be observed.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alhambra Shrine, 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
