Christopher “Chris” J. Bain, 57, of Ooltewah, died suddenly at 1:24 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson, with his wife by his side, from complications of surviving cancer.

Chris was born on January 26, 1964, in Chattanooga.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Darlene Webb Bain; stepdaughters, Allison and Andie Pawelczyk; step-grandchildren, Vincent Galassi, Peyton Conway and Skylar Conway; his sister, Angela (Greg) Ellis; special nephews and niece, Christopher A. (Kelly) Bain, Carissa (Dan) Burton and Seth Wilson; four great-nieces and -nephews; and his beloved cousin, Cathy Jones.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey A. and Minnie Bain of Trenton.

At a private burial held at Bankhead Cemetery in Mentone, Al. on Sunday, Dec. 5, Chris was laid to rest beside his parents.

In lieu of flowers, his wife requests that a donation be made on his behalf to the Special Olympics Southeast Region - Area 4, for which Chris volunteered at the standing long jump event for many years (www.specialolympicstn.org).
