Kevin Orsburn Named Officer Of The Year At Police Awards Ceremony

The Chattanooga Police Department on Thursday night honored police officers, professional staff, and community members who have demonstrated extraordinary skill, work ethic, and professionalism in making neighborhoods and other areas in Chattanooga safer and more enjoyable.

The 2020 Awards Ceremony was held at ChristWay Church.

During the ceremony, 40-plus officers were recognized for Victim Support, Community Policing, Lifesaving, Chief of Police Special Award, and Merit. CPD professional staff, community members, and partners were also honored for their dedication to the community and the department. Recent retirees and promotees were also honored during this year’s ceremony. 

Officials said, "The actions of these individuals, units, and agencies exemplifies the highest standards and values of the Chattanooga Police Department."

Retirements: Phillip Wayne Dyar, Sr., Property Technician; Patt Gibson, Administrative Support II; Syd Hogsett, Property Technician; Marvin Matthews, Property Technician; Judy Ann Smith, Property Supervisor; James Tate, Sergeant; David Ashley, Master Patrol Officer; and officers Joe Lewis Fletcher, Jr., William Scott Lee and Phillip Narramore.
