I don't intend this to be a rebuttal to the mentioned column but the article in question by Mr. Ivan Pentchoukov in the Epoch Times is a little biased and not based on the fairness Mr. Exum refers to.
There are three prominent parties in our nationwide system, Republican, Democrat and Independent, of course there some others but appear not to count in an election. I found the article itself to be a little rough as far as name calling which I suppose is hidden by the authors rhetoric.
First of all, Ivan mentions that the Republican Party last month created and passed a bill that would make voting more fair and secure. Great, that's good news, but up until this election there was never any real concern.
I suppose one of the paragraphs that jumped out at me was the following one, "The idea that the Georgia election reform bill is suppressing to voters is a complete lie, it actually expands access to early voting,” Kline wrote on Twitter. “The only thing the Georgia voting bill is suppressing is the left’s ability to cheat in future elections.” This was a quote from Mr. Phil Kline previous Atty. General from Kansas. Now Mr. Kline feels that the Republican ideal voting is all about fairness but the left is constantly trying to cheat. Notice he mentions Republicans in a decent way and Democrats in a derogatory phrase "as the left", you know, the cheaters. I suppose there has been some cheating in the past and of course the Republicans were not any part of it, just the far left evil crowd.
Also, bless them, the Georgia Republican Caucus made sure the state election superintendent and the secretary of state have less power than the state legislature body. That way when both of those officials claim there was no cheating and counted the votes three times, "how dare them" then the legislature will be sure who they want to win is elected.
But just to mentioned a couple more things, and I beg your opinion, why did Donald Trump start saying three months before the election that if he lost then it was because it was rigged and people cheated? And after the election he spoke of it every day with no proof and never mentioned the COVID crisis ever again. Why did Rudy Giuliana and Sidney Powell continue to promote voter cheating everyday in courts (and kicked out) around the country? Once Dominion Voter System took Sidney to court she said no sensible person would have believed what she was saying.
So to sum it up, was this new piece of legislation passed to save the integrity of the constitutional right to vote or to be sure in the great state of Georgia a Democrat would never win again?
