Mr. Coolidge Fought The Good Fight

  • Saturday, April 17, 2021

The Chattanooga High School Alumni Association extends our deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Coolidge. He was a member of the CHS Class of 1939 and a true Dynamo for life. RIP, Mr. Coolidge, you surely fought the good fight.

When the Alumni Association decided to establish a CHS Hall of Fame it was also determined to create a special honor, first person chosen for the Hall and the first Alumnus of the year. Despite distinguished alumni such as a U.S. senator, a 4 star admiral, presidents of two top 25 public universities, former chief justice of the Tennessee State Supreme Court and many others, there was no vote taken. Mr. Coolidge was selected by acclimation for the honor.

On a personal note, my father was stationed at Ft. McClellan at the same time as Mr. Coolidge. He rode back many times to Chattanooga with him.

Chairman CHS Hall of Fame
