Chattanooga Mocs Head Men’s Golf Coach Mark Guhne didn’t have to look far to add to his coaching staff. He went about 30 minutes up the road to snatch a rising star in the junior college ranks.
New assistant coach Miles Moseley checked off the boxes for Guhne. There is some history for the Cleveland natives, but the work Moseley accomplished in a short period of time at Cleveland State Community College essentially building the program from scratch was eye-catching.
Here are just a few of the highlights…
- Four individual qualifiers for the 2021 NJCAA Championships
- His Cougars ranked as high as No.
7 nationally in just three years at the helm
- 2020 PING NJCAA All-American Wes Spillers
“I’ve known Miles for quite a while,” Guhne shared. “He did a fantastic job getting Cleveland State on the map. His overall skillset is a great addition to our team. He’s literally done everything.
“From professional play to instruction to collegiate coaching…Miles is just a great fit for us.”
Moseley’s golf experience is limited to the past three years. He’s worked at local clubs – Cleveland Country Club & Nob North Golf Course – as well as outside the area including the esteemed Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga. He assisted in hosting the 2001 Walker Cup at Ocean Forest.
He and his wife Elizabeth reside in Cleveland. Dr. Moseley is a professor in the psychology department at CSCC.
