Siskin Hospital Therapists Earn Certifications

Siskin Hospital announces that Amanda Aussems, DPT; Meredith Russell, DPT; and Jorden Watson, DPT are now board certified neurological clinical specialists.

This certification is awarded by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Aussems specializes in LSVT-Big, a treatment method for Parkinson’s disease. She is also a graduate of Siskin Hospital’s Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program.  

Dr. Russell specializes in neurologic conditions. She is a certified stroke rehabilitation specialist and a certified brain injury specialist.

Dr. Watson specializes in neurological conditions. She is an APTA certified clinical instructor. Both she and Dr. Russell are active mentors in Siskin Hospital’s Neurologic Residency Program.

All three are physical therapists in Siskin Hospital’s Inpatient Therapy Program.

To obtain board certification, candidates must submit evidence of required clinical practice in the area of specialty and successfully complete a rigorous written examination that demonstrates specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency in the specialty area.
