James Hill

James Roseman Hill, 73, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

James was born June 11, 1949, to the late Elsie Hill and Francis Malcolm Hill. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in the Sunday School and Kitchen ministries, until his health failed.

He was an employee of Combustion Engineering and the Fairyland Club of Lookout Mountain.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfred Dewayne Hill; sister, Edna Green; nephew,  Jeffery Malcolm; sister-in-law, Doris Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, James Hill, Jr., Macon, Ga.; Allen Hill, Birmingham, Al.; brothers Edgar A. (Glenda) Hill, Memphis, Tn., Carl (Willetta) Hill, Chattanooga; four sisters, Katherine Page, Mansfield, Oh., Alma Clay, Martha Graham, and Frances Hill, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many special friends.

A public viewing will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral service in the chapel.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
