Leroy Richard Straub
Leroy Richard Straub, 85, of Hendersonville, formerly of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Straub and Mary Edith Ford.
He is survived by his sons, Leroy Richard Straub, Jr., Duane “Doodle” (Wanda) Straub and Terry Dale Straub; step-sons, Robert Combs, Joshua Morris and Matthew (Lori) Priest; grandchildren, Krystal Straub, Hunter Straub, Gentry Straub, Zach Morris, CJ Morris, Ashley Morris, Caleb Priest and Damian Priest.
Leroy grew up with two brothers, Charles Straub and Edward Straub. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on March 22, 1958 where he proudly served his country. He retired after 20 years and started his own construction company. He did this for approximately eight years and started in the trucking industry. After working for another trucking company for four years he started his own trucking company where he worked for the next fifteen years.
Leroy loved his family, his church and reading his Bible. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He liked to tinker with things by taking them apart and putting them back together. Leroy loved Fall. It was his favorite time of year. He especially enjoyed being outside, walking and watching the animals along the way.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home-Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga.
Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga, Tn.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 3-7 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-Valley View Chapel. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 3-7 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home, 108 Monthaven Blvd., Hendersonville, Tn.
