Nine Area Athletes Named To TSWA All-State Football Teams In Class 6A-4A

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association has released its All-State Football Teams for Class 6A, 5A and 4A. The Chattanooga area had nine honorees among the three classifications.


In Class 6A, Cleveland wide receiver Destun Thomas got the nod, along with teammate Tate O'Brien, a linebacker. Also named was Bradley Central linebacker, Knox Watson.


Dropping down to 5A, Rhea County had wo honorees, running back Ethan Davis and linebacker Drew Fisher.

Also named was McMinn County defensive lineman Jaryd Gable.


Closer to home in the 4A classification, Red Bank's Reco Trimble, a defensive back, and offensive lineman Demetrius Gustus were tapped, along with East Hamilton defensive lineman, Mel McFarland.


Class 1A through 3A will be released on Wednesday, with all three Division II classifications released on Thursday.
