Cheryll Ann Walton McWhorter, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a graduate of Riverside High School and received her associate's degree from Draughons Junior College. She was formerly employed by Shaw Industries.

Cheryll was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.  She cared deeply for her entire family.

Cheryll was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Ollie Walton; sisters, Norma Walton Keyes, Daryll Walton Ragsdale, and Amesia Walton Meadows; grandparents, Lee Lyons, Lillie Lyons, Maggie Walton, and Young Walton.

Survivors include her sons, Artuero (Valerie) Walton and Cherrick Sanders; daughter, Fairel Sanders, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Tiombe Walton, Taylor Walton, David Sumpter, Christopher Small, and Tennyson Akridge; brothers, Malik Abdullah, of Clearwater, FL, Ronald Walton, of New Jersey, and Edward Walton, of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Randi (Chuck) Meacham and Khati Johnson; her devoted, loving, and caring partner, Wallace Fortson a host of other relatives and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
