Thomas William Gray, Jr. “Bill”, 67, of East Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

He was a native of Signal Mountain, and had lived most of his life in the Chattanooga area. In his younger years, Bill was a ferrier’s assistant traveling around shoeing horses for nearly 10 years. After his time as a ferrier, Bill became a diesel mechanic having worked many years for various companies in the Chattanooga area. Bill was a gentle giant who loved his wife and family dearly. He loved his animals and listening to Old Rock and Roll and the Blues. Bill was a “Jack of all trades” who enjoyed working on cars making them run and run fast. He was a perfectionist, he was knowledgeable in many subjects, and he could do anything he put his mind to. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas William Gray, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Ruth and Harry Gray; maternal grandparents, Lillian and Clinton Worley; and sister-in-law, Connie Gray.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Joyce M. Gray; two sons; one daughter; mother, Joyce Gray; two brothers, Mike Gray and Charles (Cathy) Gray; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
