8Bend Marketing Brings StoryBrand To Chattanooga Businesses With UTC Partnership

  • Tuesday, February 1, 2022

Local Chattanooga marketing agency 8Bend Marketing is bringing the StoryBrand Livestream messaging workshops created by best-selling author Donald Miller to Chattanooga through a community partnership with UTC.

The first event will take place Feb. 22-23, with at least three more StoryBrand Livestream workshops planned for 2022 in May, September and December. 8Bend Marketing plans to add other workshops focused on sales and marketing to the event schedule. The events will be hosted in the James R. Mapp building at UTC, which will provide a audio/video experience and a collaborative space for attendees to work with coaches from 8Bend Marketing. More than 20,000 businesses have gone through the StoryBrand 7-part messaging framework that is taught during the Livestream workshops.

“I first attended a StoryBrand event in 2019, and it completely changed my approach to sales and marketing,” said 8Bend Marketing Co-Founder and President Josh Davis. “Nothing has been as transformative to the quality of my work and the development of my career as StoryBrand. Since I launched 8Bend Marketing as a StoryBrand Certified Agency, I’ve worked with more than 100 businesses across the country. I’m incredibly excited to bring this opportunity to local Chattanooga businesses and share the amazing StoryBrand workshop experience with them.”

8Bend Marketing spearheaded the partnership with the UTC Center for Professional Education, led by its director, John Freeze, and the UTC Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, led by its director, Libby Santin. As part of the partnership, 8Bend Marketing and StoryBrand will donate a scholarship to each event to a local business through the University’s Urban Vision Initiative led by Entrepreneur-in-Residence Mike Bradshaw.

“Our organization’s mission is to strategically provide community members with opportunities to acquire the skills they need to succeed in the local workforce,” stated UTC Center for Professional Education Director John Freeze. “We believe we can continue to support our local community and improve our local small business's marketing efforts by partnering with 8Bend Marketing to host the StoryBrand messaging workshops.”

Mr. Miller’s book, Building a StoryBrand, has sold more than 700,000 copies. Mr. Miller followed it up with the books Marketing Made Simple, Business Made Simple, and most recently, Hero on a Mission, all of which have landed on best-seller lists.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to work with 8Bend Marketing and the UTC Urban Vision Initiative to make business training and resources accessible to more members of the Chattanooga business community,” said Head of StoryBrand J.J. Peterson. “In Nashville, we invited a cohort of minority-owned businesses to join a coaching group and go through our Business Made Simple curriculum with us. If we can inspire and support other StoryBrand Certified Agencies, like 8Bend Marketing, to serve in this way in their own communities, we feel we can make a positive contribution to society.”

Information and registration to these events is available at www.8bend.marketing/storybrand. The cost to attend the 2-day StoryBrand Livestream event hosted by 8Bend Marketing in the James R. Mapp building at UTC is $1,995. The cost to attend the event virtually is $995.
