The Baylor boys soccer team earned two hard fought wins Saturday in the Meet Me In The Middle Tournament hosted by Baylor School, Houston High School, and Tennessee State Soccer Association.
Baylor beat Science Hill 1-0 in the morning game. The goal was scored in the 48th minute by Gui Gragnano off a cross from Jon Ryan Godbehere.
Baylor had an 11-6 advantage on shots. Zach Ubamadu had six saves for Baylor.
It ended 1-0 for Baylor.
In the afternoon game, Baylor came back after being down 1-0 and beat STEM from Nashville 2-1.
STEM scored in the 7th minute. In the 16th minute, Phelipe Spielman tied the game scoring off a pass from Gui Gragnano.
At the 26th minute, Gragnano scored off a penalty kick.
Baylor had a 12-6 advantage on shots and Ubamadu had four saves.
In Friday's game, Baylor beat Father Ryan 5-2 scoring three second half goals.
"I am proud of our guys for the hard work this weekend," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "We played three quality teams in a 24 hour period and found a way to win in all three. The last game we were on fumes but it was nice to see a full team effort this weekend."
Baylor improves to 5-0 on the season.
