Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Lincoln County and East Hamilton where the Lady Canes lost 18-8.
East Hamilton struggled to contain the high-powered offense of the Falcons, giving up 18 runs.
East Hamilton got things started in the first inning when Danielle Wasserstrom singled.
Lincoln County pulled away for good with seven runs in the third inning. In the third Abby Flynt hit a solo homer, Paisley Cowley singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Bre Haislip singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, and Chloie McKean homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
Hallie Meeks was the winning pitcher for the Falcons. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out three.
Wasserstrom took the loss for East Hamilton. The righty surrendered ten runs on 12 hits over three innings.
Mia Brown started the game for Lincoln County. The lefthander allowed four hits and four runs over one-third of an inning, walking zero
East Hamilton smacked one home run on the day. Henley Apps had a homer in the first inning.
The Lady Hurricanes totaled 12 hits in the game. Wasserstrom, Apps, Reese Knox, and Nicole Wasserstrom all collected multiple hits for East Hamilton Wasserstrom went 3-for-4 at the plate to led East Hamilton in hits.
Lincoln County racked up 22 hits. Carlee Mills, Meeks, Haislip, Brown, Cowley, Flynt, Macey Widner, and Kelsey Posey each collected multiple hits for the Falcons. Lincoln County didn't commit a single error in the field. Haislip had the most chances in the field with six.
