Oakland defeated Ooltewah, 3-0, in a state sectional match Saturday in Murfreesboro.
The Patriots scored two goals in the first half. In the 14th minute, Shishio Abram put a ball into the box and Dominic Carretta put it in the net.
Later in the 32nd minute, the Patriots' Mario Perea took a shot from 30 yards out it went off of Ooltewah keeper Caleb Lancaster's hands and the rebound came to Avery Rogers banged it in.
with 11 minutes gone in half number two a header by Ben Stinson found its mark for the final margin.
Around a 35-to-40 minute lightning delay ensued and Ooltewah decided the game
should be called so Oakland advances to their third Spring Fling in the last four seasons at 17-2-2. Ooltewah ends its season at 14-6 and is still looking for its first Spring Fling appearance since 2006.
