The fourth annual Signal Centers Accessibility Awareness Summit is the first in-person summit to be held by Signal Centers since before the Covid-19 pandemic. The summit will discuss issues facing individuals with disabilities and how these issues can be addressed with technology.
Keynote Speaker Valerie Fletcher is the executive director of The Institute of Human-Centered Design. She will talk about the importance of universal, inclusive design and the intersection of equity and disability.
The day-long summit will also be broadcasted digitally at a lower price point for those individuals who are not able to attend the event in person.
Accommodations will include both a captionist and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. Other presentation topics include Accessibility in Education, Accessible Technology, Aging and Disabilities – Planning for the Future, Building an Accessible and Inclusive Workplace, Neurodiversity in Hiring and Designing Accessible Communities.
Chattanooga State Community College will be offering Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) to attendees at an additional cost of $10. For more information on speakers, and to register for the event, visit
