The Independence Day holiday launching a long weekend for most Chattanoogans will feature the first performance of the 15th season of Riverfront Nights.  The free summer concert series will feature headliner Sail On: The Beach Boys Tribute.

"Performing over 80 shows each year, Sail On is the most booked Beach Boys Tribute band in the world," officials said. The band plays classic hits plus treasures from the band’s extended catalog, recreating the soundtrack to an Endless Summer completely live and in rich detail."

The evening’s opening act will be Fresh Mind, known for their ability to mix reggae, rock, jazz and blues. The result is music that will keep people on their feet throughout the show.  The band will take the Ross’s Landing Stage at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening.

Along with the two bands, guests will enjoy drinks and food from an assortment of food vendors and food trucks.

Organizers said, “This is going to be a fun Saturday evening as we head into the holiday. There’s nothing more fun than bringing a blanket and your friends to enjoy music on the river. We’re looking forward to a great series.”
