Registration for the ACE Mentor Program of Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia is open for 2022-2023.
The ACE Mentor Program of Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia is the local affiliate of a national non-profit organization. An acronym for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering, ACE engages, excites, and enlightens high school students to consider careers in the integrated construction industry through mentoring and scholarships. ACE relies on a network of volunteer mentors ranging from architects and engineers to construction managers, contractors, and subcontractors.
High school students interested in pursuing a career in the design and construction industry are invited to participate in the 2022-2023 program beginning the week of Sept. 12 and meeting weekly through the awards banquet in February. Sessions will be held at Red Bank High School, Chattanooga School of Arts and Science, Lafayette High School, EMJ Corporation and Creative Discovery Museum and will encourage collaboration between students and mentors on mock design projects.
Organizers are also looking for community leaders in the A-C-E fields who are interested in making a direct impact in the lives of students as well as the future of these industries by serving as a mentor. Mentors spend time educating and encouraging students in a team environment including local change-making peers. Background checks are required prior to working with students.
