The make-up of the rain shortened 28th "Dream 100" at Eldora Speedway in Northeast Ohio, from June, was contested Wednesday night, picking up on lap 15 of the $128,000 to win race. Chris Madden of South Carolina would dominate for 76 straight caution free laps, until the 91st circuit saw a crash in turn two between Bobby Pierce, Devin Moran and Hudson O'Neil.
On the restart, second running Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. saw his opportunity and the #76 Wells Motorsports "Overton Crossfit, EZ-GO, Big Dog Stump and Tree, All-Star Concrete, Boswell Oil and special All in for Miller for Pediatric Cancer" sponsored Longhorn rocketed into the lead around the outside of Madden.
Overton held off Madden for the final nine circuits earning his third consecutive "Dream 100" victory.
Behind Madden was Tim McCreadie of New York, 20th starting Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga. and Brandon Shepard of Illinois. Chickamauga's Dale McDowell finished sixth overall. Hall of Famer and eight time winner of the Dream 100 Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tn. failed to make it to technical inspection at the start and was credited with last place.
Prelims for the "World 100" begin Thursday night with Saturday wrapping up the week with the $55,000 to win annual 100 lapper. Floracing.com has live coverage for subscribers on their website.
