Three Lee Tennis Players Named To Academic All-District Team

The Lee University women's tennis team had three players named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Teams for their excellence in the classroom. The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

To qualify for the recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games.

Senior Ashleigh Simes has a 3.62 GPA in business administration.
She has been on the Gulf South Conference honor roll three times and was a GSC All-Academic Team member last year. Kanna Kobayakawa has a 3.76 GPA in accounting. She was on the GSC honor roll last season. Maria Penalver Aguilo has a 3.83 GPA in marketing. She was on the GSC honor roll as well last season.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women’s tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.  Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3, 2025.  The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
