Enid Dawn Green
Enid Dawn Green, 64, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly in her home on December 27, 2022.
She was born in Bartow, Fl., to Ed and Betty Stanford on Aug. 15, 1958. Dawn graduated from Cleveland State Community College with her Associates of Science in Nursing in 1988. She spent the majority of her career working as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital.
Dawn married Jim Green on January 15, 1982 in Chattanooga. They have three children who all live in the Chattanooga area. She was her children’s biggest fan, biggest cheerleader, their advice giver, and the keeper of all their secrets. She taught her children to carry themselves with so much attitude and veracity. Some even say she was famous for back scratches and cuddles. Dawn was the first to take anyone in and give them a roof over their head when in need. She enjoyed spending summers at the beach with family, watching Tennessee Titans Football, and loving on her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Betty Stanford; father and mother-in-law, H.J. and Carol Green; and brother-in-law, Robert B. Green.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim Green; children, Jennifer Miller (Kevin), Jessica Green, John Green, and "adopted" daughter Chelsea Moses; grandchildren, Brayden and Caroline Miller; sister, Stacy Stanford Reed (Ricky); brothers, Sid Stanford (Sandra), and Mike Shell (Billie). She also leaves behind her beloved sisters-in-law; Linda Crane, Jane Green (Cathy), Susie Ogletree (Ricky), and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8, from 4-6 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
