Rev. John Wynn passed away on October 2, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Together, John and Othella were pastors of Staffordtown Church in Cooperhill for over 50 years. Even in his 90's he preached in several churches monthly.
During his years of living for the Lord, he held many life-changing tent revivals, wrote two books and composed numerous songs; and he even had his own podcast.
Those who had the honor of being a part of Brother John's life knew that he was one of the sweetest souls. He loved his family, his friends, singing, silly socks and so much more. Above all else, he loved the Lord. He was a soldier in the army of the Lord, as well as a veteran in the United States Army.
John's light shined brightly. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always kept people smiling. He will be dearly missed.
John Wynn was preceded in death by his parents, brother and three sisters, as well as his wife, Othella and his loving daughter, Sheila.
He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Johnny and Karen, Tommy and Cheri and Anthony and Shelia, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life for Brother John Henry Wynn, Jr. (Papaw) will be at Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle (MDT CHURCH) on Thursday, Oct. 5. Viewing for family and friends is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with the funeral service following. The church is located on County Road 677, Box 245 in Riceville.
