Jake Marshall Service Plans To Add New Office On S. Hickory Street

Officials of Jake Marshall Service said they have run out of space at the current location at 2912 S. Hickory St., and they plan to build nearby.

Richard Pollard told members of the Planning Commission that the firm acquired property in the 2800 block of S. Hickory and tore down four houses.

He said two of the houses were condemned. He said the homes had been rentals that were not kept up.

Community members said since the houses were razed they had been experiencing flooding problems that were not there before.

Mr. Pollard said Jake Marshall would comply with all stormwater requirements on the project.

The Planning Commission recommended approval of the rezoning request to Office Zone.
