United Way of Greater Chattanooga announces they have served a record number of individuals while fulfilling their mission of “uniting people and resources to build a stronger, healthier community.” Each year, United Way of Greater Chattanooga releases a review of the work done alongside volunteers and partners to serve neighbors across the region. Key insights from this year’s annual report include:
• Answered 62,790 calls through the free and confidential 211 helpline;
• Funded 62 nonprofits with $4.4 million through the community investments grants process;
• Provided direct financial emergency assistance to 805 neighbors through the Bridge Fund; and
• Connected 1,035 volunteers to nonprofit projects through the ihelpchattanooga platform.

“We are deeply grateful to look back on an amazing year of service and powerful partnerships,” says CEO of United Way of Greater Chattanooga Lesley Scearce.
“Seeing the collective impact we’ve made encourages our leadership and helps us see the future of our mission clearer than ever before.”

As United Way of Greater Chattanooga plans for next year, the organization says they are committed to building a more family-friendly community for all through a two-generation approach.

“When families thrive, communities thrive. This simple fact is our north star – our guiding light as we continue to serve our community,” said Ms. Scearce. “Together, we can build a family-friendly community where every child has the opportunity to dream of a brighter future.”
