Cathey Ann Hawkins Lawson, after a long battle with cancer went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

She was born on January 16, 1957, and was a lifelong resident of Bradley County. Cathey was of the Baptist faith. She was employed with the Whirlpool Corporation for 30 years and later employed with McKee Baking Company for 15 years.

Cathey’s family were the center of her life. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with them and cheering for the UT Vols. She enjoyed gardening and shared the beauty of her talents with family and friends.

Cathey was survived by her husband of 47 years, Rickey Lawson, Sr., daughters, Sabrina (Will) Mason, Selena (James) Brown, son Rickey (Kristen) Lawson, Jr., grandchildren Riley Wilson, Zakary Underwood, Lilly Wilson and William Dockery, III. One sister, Charlotte (Larry) Phillips and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy (Smith) Hawkins, mother-in-law, Yvonne Johnson, sisters Brenda Swafford, Patty Mason, Wanda Sue Goins, and brother-in-law Kenney Lawson.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 3, from 12-3 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home on Ocoee Street in Cleveland.

Following visitation, a graveside service and interment will be at The Sugar Creek Cemetery officiated by Scotty Baker. Brian Frady, Dylan Frady, Coby Phillips, Riley Wilson, Zakary Underwood and Cody Mason will serve as pallbearers.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Black, Ronnie Phillips and William Dockery, III.
