Daniel Atchley
Daniel Calhoun Atchley, 63, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 24, 2023, surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
Dan was born April 28,1959 and graduated from Red Bank High School, class of 1978. He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, followed by receiving his electrical apprenticeship license from IBEW. He was employed at EPB Chattanooga and an instructor at the IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship School. He was a devoted and lifelong member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
Dan’s favorite pastimes were being in the woods every deer season, golfing with family and friends, but above all, spending time with his six wonderful grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Anyone who met Dan instantly fell in love with his friendly personality and memorable laugh. You never saw Dan without a smile on his face and a laugh coming from the unending positivity in his heart. He will be remembered and greatly missed by so many.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Hall Merritt Atchley and Connie Jonopulos Atchley and beloved brother, Mark Atchley.
Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his beloved wife of 39 years, Lynn Atchley; his children, Cal (Christina) Atchley, Sarah (Alex) Ramsey, and Seth Atchley (Shelby Hixson); his beloved grandchildren, Croy, Clive, Kate, Madison, Copper, and Luke; his brother, Woody Atchley, his sister, Liz (Craig) Allen; brothers and sister-in-laws; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many loving friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 28, at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Glenwood Dr., Chattanooga, with Fr. Stavros Ballas presiding.
Interment will be at Chattanooga Memorial Gardens, 501 Memorial Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37415.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 722 Glenwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
