Baseball/Softball Round-up: Thursday, March 30th

BASEBALL

Eagleville 6, Signal Mountain 5

Signal Mountain’s three runs in the bottom of the seventh left them one run short in the Pounder Classic.

Boyd Buchanan 6, Southside 5

Caden Henry scored on Brodie Lowe’s two out walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th to give the Bucs the win over Southside.

Haden Griffith led Boyd Buchanan with three hits and Brodie Johnston had home run and three base n balls.

Whitwell 14, CSAS 4

Colby Elwood had the hot stick for the Tigers in their win over CSAS. Elwood had three hits, including a pair of doubles. Garrett Miller had two hits for Whitwell, as well. Bec Fitzsimmons had a pair of hits for the Patriots.

Hixson 10, Brookville (PA) 1

The Wildcats were led by Chase Barnard, Cooper Bailey and Yeray Velasquez with two hits each. Barnard had a double and Bailey homered.

Cameron Butler and bailey each pitched three innings for Hixson, striking out four apiece.

Howard 17, Brainerd 1

The Hustlin’ Tigers scored at least one run in each of the four innings they batted. JKwon McKevie led Howard with three hits, including a home run. He had three RBIs and two runs scored. Camron James had two hits for the Tigers and picked up the win on the mound, striking out eight Panthers in three innings.

Marion Co. 2, Sequatchie Co. 1

The Warriors won the pitching duel with Sequatchie Co. with Brayden Abney and Brody Weeks combining to allow just one run on three hits. Abney totaled six strikeouts in six innings.

Baron Cribbs went the distance for the Indians, retiring 12 batters on strikes, giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh for the loss.

Luke Tipton had both of Marion Co.’s hits, including a walk-off triple to center for the game winner..

Meigs Co. 12, Copper Basin 2

The Tigers were led by Luke Pendergrass, Hunter Davis, Nate Levy and Nate Hull, who all had a two hit day from the middle of the Meigs Co. batting order.

The Cougar’s Avery Crowder had two hits to lead copper Basin.

SOFTBALL

Bledsoe Co. 13, Monterey 0

Kamry Holland had a triple and two doubles included in a four for four day at the plate for the Lady Warriors. Holland had two RBIs and scored three runs in the win. Josie Potter had three hits, including a home run, for Bledsoe, while Emma Reel and Kaylynn Churches each had two hits. Ella Baker homered and struck out six in the circle for the win.

Boyd Buchanan 13, Whitwell 0

Brooke Watson went three for four with a pair of home runs and three RBIs, meanwhile striking out nine to get the pitching win for the Lady Bucs. Cailyn Butler had three hits, as Kiley Elliott and Allison Johnson had a pair of hits each, including a home run apiece.

Bradley Central 7, McMinn Co. 2

Macy Chastain led the Bearettes with three hits, while Brylee Cisco, Bailey Lockhart, Lynlee Hodge and Alliyssia Herbold chipped in with two each.

Sale Creek 18, Lookout Valley 0

Samantha Marler went three for three and Madi Beene, Jalyn Hammons and Abby Gordon all had a pair of hits for Sale Creek.

Bridgette Rollins had two hits for the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Meigs Co. 16, McMinn Central 0

Thirteen runs in the top of the second proved lucky for the Lady Tigers. Kennedy Majors had two hits to lead Meigs.

Rhea Co. 11, Ooltewah 1

Bailey Roberts led Rhea Co. with three hits, while Lakyn Lockhart, Olivia Day and Sadie Burton provided two hits each. Chelsea Reel struck out nine while allowing a lone hit for the Lady Golden Eagles.

Silverdale 17, Grace 0

A 13 run first inning by the Lady Seahawks doomed Grace. Addie Keef provided three hits in the lead-off spot, including a home run, to power Silverdale’s offense. Jaliyah Whitaker, Kennedy Stinson and Ella Cunningham all had two hits for the Lady Seahawks. Whitaker had a double and a triple, while Cunningham and Allie Weber homered.
