Janice Elaine Womack Burk, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord, April 29,2023, peacefully, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John & Nellie Womack, of Riceville, and Charles & May Bee Hamill, of Ooltewah; and her parents, Walter Lee Womack & Mary Elizabeth Hamill Womack, of Ooltewah.
She leaves behind her sons, William Lee Burk (Billy) & family and Donald Douglas Burk (Donnie) & family; her daughter, Janice "Nannette" Burk Ivey & family; grandchildren, Dee-Dee Burk Taylor, Michelle Burk Beavers, Kendra Ivey, Rebecca Anne Ivey, Tanner Burk, Hope Burk, Jeremiah Burk, Davin Burk, Brent Tucker and Ceithen Tucker; and four great-grands.
Janice was very active in all her churches throughout the years. She worked with Jimmy Dykes in the Ladies Jail ministry for five years in Cleveland. She was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Janice retired from Peyton's Southeastern, where she worked as a Rx inspector.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 at Companion Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home. The burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, following the service.
