Local Teacher's Note-Passing Nostalgia Inspires New Board Game Paper Trail

  • Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Lime Green Games, the brainchild of Chattanooga native Travis Deere, announces the launch of its debut board game, Paper Trail. Combining elements of hidden movement, critical thinking, and a touch of nostalgia, this innovative game promises an immersive and exciting experience for players 13+.

Launched via Kickstarter on May 1, the project achieved full funding within just four days, showcasing the interest and anticipation from the gaming community.

Growing up in Chattanooga, the Lime Green Games founder developed a love for strategic gameplay during his teenage years. Drawing inspiration from his experiences as a middle school history teacher and his fond memories of note passing, he embarked on a journey to bring Paper Trail to life.

"Creating Paper Trail has been a dream come true for me," said Mr. Deere. "I wanted to apply what I had experienced as a real-life middle school teacher into a game. When I hit on the note passing concept, all the other game mechanics branched out from there. I wanted to make the teacher role feel realistic. Seeing the excitement from the Kickstarter campaign is incredible. I can't wait for everyone to try out Paper Trail for themselves."

Mr. Deere earned a Masters of Education in Secondary Education and History from NC State, prior to returning home to Chattanooga and holding teaching positions at East Ridge Middle School, Wauhatchie Forest School, and within the Hamilton County School System.

Lime Green Games invites gamers and enthusiasts in Chattanooga and beyond to discover the immersive world of Paper Trail. For those interested the game is currently available for pre-order through Kickstarter through June 1 at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/travisdeere/paper-trail-1.
