My Discount Liquor, Wine And Tobacco Opens New Location In Red Bank

  • Thursday, June 22, 2023

Jay Patel and his wife, Shaku, owners of My Discount Liquor, Wine and Tobacco, knew they would have to find a new location for their family-owned business when the Save-A-Lot, located in the same shopping center on Dayton Boulevard, announced its closing in 2022.  My Discount Liquor store had served the community of Red Bank since 2004.  However, the Patels saw the closing of the center as a good opportunity to find a new permanent location for their business.

The Patels wanted to continue operating in Red Bank and found the perfect location for their business right down the street at 2004 Dayton Boulevard. The new location measures 2,825 square feet, much larger in size than their original store. Mr. and Mrs. Patel, their son Satish, along with all their employees, are down to earth and hard-working people who try to create a family-friendly atmosphere at the store. They proudly tout that with the increase in space, they can now offer a wider selection of products. The Patels plan to add more selections of whiskeys, craft beers, and other local offerings from the Chattanooga area distilleries. The staff actively asks customers for their preferences and suggestions for any new products that they may be searching for.

“Red Bank is a family-friendly nice neighborhood,” said Mr. Patel.  “The people of Red Bank are loving and caring people. They have accepted us as one of them and always give us the opportunity to serve them. They will tell us if we need to change or do something differently – like family and friends do.”

The Patels appreciate the community’s support and inclusion of them and their business in Red Bank. Mr. Patel said that the people of Red Bank have accepted them like their own, even if they have an accent and do not look exactly like them. He said that the citizens of Red Bank have supported their business since 2004 and he looks forward to serving the community from their new location for many years to come.
