McKamey Animal Center announces the Second Annual Paw Palooza Pet Walk & Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in Coolidge Park.
"Your attendance at this event will help MAC continue to provide life-saving services and resources for the tens of thousands of pets that will turn to the center this year in need of assistance," organizers said.
Paw Palooza will include a fundraising walk around Coolidge Park, a doggy fun run course for pooches to run, shopping from 40+ local vendors, local eats from 10 different food trucks, a beer garden with brews from four local breweries and bars, event day contests, including a pet costume contest, and more.
MAC will also have adoptable pets on-site that day for folks looking to add a new pet to their family.
"The centerpiece of Paw Palooza is the fundraising pet walk, where participants and their four-legged companions embark on a scenic route around beautiful Coolidge Park," organizers said. "By participating in the walk, you are not only enjoying a fun-filled day with your pooch, but you are also making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of homeless pets in Chattanooga. Participants are encouraged to create a team and rally their friends and family to raise critically needed funds to support MAC's life saving mission. In addition to participating in the walk, individual fundraisers and fundraising teams can earn some exciting prizes and perks based on how much they raise."

Directly after the fundraising walk, the festival portion of the event will kick off, and will be open for all of the community to attend. There will be all kinds of fun to be had for both the two-legged and four-legged attendees throughout the event.
"We are so excited to be bringing this event back for its second year to unite the large pet-loving community of Chattanooga," said Lauren Mann, director of advancement. "MAC is here to help pets and people, and we are so excited to host a community-based event that shows just that."
Paw Palooza is still accepting sponsors and vendors, and those who are interested are encouraged to reach out to Ms. Mann by emailing her at directorofadvancement@mckameyanimalcenter.org. Note that food truck and beer garden slots for this event are full and additional vendors for these areas cannot be accepted at this time.
"All proceeds from this event will help MAC to continue to provide for the tens of thousands of animals that come to MAC every year looking for protection, medical treatment, food, shelter and love until they find their new homes," organizers said.
MAC will also be closed for adoptions on this day, and encourages potential adopters to visit the adoption area MAC will have set up on-site at Coolidge Park during the event.
