Jo Ann Hernandez
Jo Ann Hernandez, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023.
Jo Ann retired from the military in 2000 after a career spanning more than 30 years between the Air Force, active duty Army and the Tennessee National Guard. She along with her husband, Carlos Hernandez, and eldest son served together during Desert Storm/Desert Shield with the 196th Field Artillery Brigade. Jo Ann graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in accounting, but experienced many different career fields, including construction worker and police officer for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Jo Ann enjoyed camping with her family, campfires, and the myriad of dogs that were part of the family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and some family.
She is survived by three sons, Michael, John, and Robert and ten grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
