As many have said this week, our Elaine was the kind of woman who was loved well. To know her was to love her. She was equal parts silly, sassy, boisterous, fiery, the list is endless. She was a woman not to be forgotten in life and her legacy of passion will live on well with those who held her dear.
Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband James Brown, her father Harold Cole and her most good doggo- Brunner Brown.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Jimmy Brown and Josh Brown, her sisters, Sue Feldkamp (Dan) and Lesha Jackson (Greg), her mother, Patsy Cole, and her troop of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Elaine was an avid crafter, literary lass, and proud military brat of the U.S. Air Force. We will all remember the sound (or sometimes lack thereof) of her giggling. To some she was the Thelma to a Louise, riding wild and free down the hills of our town. To some she was a Molly Weasley, a mother to all who passed her door. To some she was a Meg March, a big sister anyone would be thankful for. To one she was Sassenach, a true and deep forever love. To all of us - she is someone hard to say goodbye to. Life is a little darker without her, but we know that without that darkness we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the light she shines on the memories we are privileged to keep vigil over. We know you’re at peace now. I’ll dream of you and uncle Jim riding down to the water in your VW bus, Brunner in the back, with Papa waiting on the dock to take you fishing. Rest well, and know we will see you again.
