South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society Benefit Sale Is Oct. 5

South Pittsburg Historic Preservation Society Inc.’s 21st “Trash and Treasure” rummage sale will be held at the Chapel on the Hill, Elm Avenue and 8th Street in South Pittsburg this Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the Society’s Projects, especially the South Pittsburg Heritage Museum, open Friday and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m.-noon at 316 South Cedar Ave.

Past projects include the Princess Theatre reconstruction and the restoration of the 1888 Primitive Baptist Church, known today as the Chapel on the Hill.
The latest Society project to be installed in January 2025 is a Tennessee Historical Marker to honor Dr. Hiram Beene Moore, who served the community from 1945 until 2002.
