The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is through 36 holes of the Evie Odom Invitational at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va. The Mocs 292 today gives them a 2-day total of 585 which is tied for ninth with Coastal Carolina.
Violeta Fernandez-Tagle paced her group with a 2-under 68. She posted four birdies, 12 pars and two bogeys. Fernandez-Tagle took advantage of the par 5s today playing the long holes at 3 under with three birdies and a par.
Kera Healey and Giulia Foresta once again matched with 74s today.
Alexis Daniel completed the counting cards with a 76, while Makenzie Cooper had the drop of 78.
Fernandez-Tagle is in the top 10 tied for sixth at level-par 140. Healey and Foresta are tied with 148 as Daniel is one behind at 149. Cooper’s 153 is next on the team sheet.
College of Charleston takes a 4-shot lead into the final 18. Led by individual leader Emma Schimpf at 6 under, has a 2-day tally of 563. Furman is in second with 567.
The Mocs are paired with Notre Dame and Penn State for Sunday’s final round. It starts at 8:30 a.m., as Cooper starts it off followed by Daniel, Foresta, Healey and Fernandez-Tagle in 10-minute intervals. That trio starts the field off No. 1 for the final 18.
