Mocs Face Off With Austin Peay Monday On The Road

  • Sunday, November 10, 2024
The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team is ready to conclude its three-game road trip begin the 2024-25 season with a Monday night contest at in-state foe Austin Peay inside F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tenn. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (0-2), who was shorthanded due to injuries during its first two games, is coming off an intriguing 86-74 defeat at perennial power Saint Mary's (CA) last Thursday night. The Mocs used a 16-2 run in the second half to take a brief lead over the Gaels before the hosts pulled away down the stretch.
Makai Richards scored a career-high 19 points during the loss.

Austin Peay (2-0) heads into Monday night's game following an impressive 68-66 win at Big East member Butler on Friday night in Indianapolis. The Govs appeared in the ASUN title game last season before kicking off this year's campaign with back-to-back victories.

Chattanooga opened its season with a tough 77-51 defeat at Southern California on Monday before dropping a hard-fought 86-74 decision at Saint Mary's (CA) on Thursday to begin the year 0-2. It's just the second time since the start of the 2012-13 season (2017-18) beginning a fresh campaign with consecutive losses. The Gaels were receiving votes in both national top 25 polls before the contest on Thursday.
