Connie Jean Emerling
Connie Jean Emerling, born on October 8, 1954, ascended to her heavenly home on December 9, 2024.
Connie's journey through life was marked by determination and fierce independence. She was the middle daughter (one of three) born to John Emerling and Joyce Freshour. She grew up and lived her life in Chattanooga, graduating from Soddy Daisy High School. She began her career working at Olan Mills before dedicating 30+ years to Vincent Printing, Inc. (VPI). She took great pride in her work and also met many of her closest friends during her time at VPI.
Beyond her work life, Connie loved working in the yard, the Florida panhandle, photography, her little bird Lupi, and of course the Tennessee Volunteers. You could always find her in orange and white on a Friday before game day (or any other day for that matter). But her deepest joy came when her two precious granddaughters were born. They truly brought light into her life.
She was predeceased by her mother, Joyce Freshour Blake, her father, John Emerling, and her sisters, Kathy Hickman and Tammy Emerling, "adopted" parents, James and Shirley Breedlove and sister, Sandy Shipley. It brings great comfort to know that she is now reunited with them all in peace.
Connie is survived by her daugher, Jodi Emerling Bolen (Steven), grandaughers, Lydia Bolen and Hazel Ann Bolen all of Chattanooga. She is also survived by her Aunt Jean Ann Freshour of Chattanooga, and several adopted sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
